Open House to Celebrate Anniversary of Tolbert Health Care Plan
Quality of Life Health Services, Inc. will host an Open House on
Friday, February 13 at 1316 Noble Street. A brief ceremony
acknowledging the anniversary of the approval of the Tolbert Health
Care plan will be held at Lyric Square at 10:00 a.m. The ceremony
will be followed by tours of the newly remodeled Anniston Quality
Health Care, which is located next door. All Tolbert claimants and
the general public are invited to attend.
On February 16, 2005, the Honorable U.W. Clemon of the United States
District Court for the Northern District of Alabama approved the
concept of the Tolbert Health Care Project, designed to provide high
quality medical, dental and prescription drug coverage to Tolbert
claimants. Medical services for the adult claimants were arranged
with Quality of Life Health Services, Inc. at its Noble street site.
Services to children were designated to Dr. Angela Martin.
As a part of the Tolbert settlement, there was a $ 2 million dollar
grant to enhance the infrastructure of each clinic. Recently, Dr.
Martin opened her new office and, on Friday, Quality of Life Health
Services, Inc. will provide tours highlighting the changes to its
facility on Noble Street. Also, available for Tolbert claimants,
there will be free health screenings all day on February 13th from
8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. For more information, please call
